Prams that fit in Fabia?

Featured Replies

I know this isn;t quite the type of question people ask on this forum but you're all Fabia owners and some of you might be parents, so I guess you may be able to help.

Basically, I thought the Fabia had a big boot but since having a baby I've discovered that most prams will not fit into it which is a bit of a pain.

It is the 2004 Fabia - I wasn;t sure if it was Fabia I or II on here that I needed so please redirect me if I'm wrong.

Anyway - what Prams will fit into the Fabia boot please?

We have a Silver Cross sleepover and the chassis will only fit on the back seat hooked over the headrest which is no good really, but it's the same size as the Mamas and Papas Pliko Pramette chassis so I guess a standard size?

We can;t afford a new car but it's looking like we might have to buy one! Other half isn;t keen cos I say we have to get rid of the BMW Z4 rather than the Fabia!

Thanks for any help.

:)

Sorry, I can't help directly - not got to that stage yet and have an Octy now anyway :)

But I reckon these are the sorts of questions that are perfect for forums, as you hopefully get a decent amount of experience of what works, from those that have been there and done it

I wish I'd bought the Octavia now - seriously would like to get one now but as I say other half not keen on swapping BMW for one but there's no point keeping it cos only he fits in it now! Well, I do as well but you know what I mean - baby can;t go in it so it's a bit of a luxury now.

hiya mate, we can get the quinny buzz 3 in the boot of the faboa, and the dream cosi add on, its tight and nowt left but it goes in,

put it upside down and take the wheels off and it goes

theres a small shallow sub box on the end of the boot thats 6inches deep too , so that could free a lilttle bit of room

Sort of question I didn't think I'd have to answer ( or ask ) again ,but being a Grandad for sixth time ,and as daughter was grounded for six weeks I've discovered that the Greco( or Graco) travel system (car seat +wheels) minus the car seat fits in the boot of my 04 Furby hatchback .Mind you it is a tight fit and you need to remove the boot cover .If you can get the ISOFIX adapter ( which Mothercare say don't exist ,but someone on here pointed to one existing via an Ebay ad ) -makes fitting of car seat simple .( and to my mind makes the seat more secure )

"being a Grandad for sixth time ,and as daughter was grounded for six weeks"

OMG. Grounded by your Dad when you're a parent yourself must be pretty tough to deal with. Do you still make her sit on the naughty step?

And that's why we bought a Fabia estate...

Seriously though you could change the hatch for the estate - is't a big boot (we have an XTS off-road three wheeler and that fits fine)

Keep the Z4!

Swap the furby for a combi (estate). I can get Cello, football kit, school bags, packed lunches, taekwando kit and even some of my stuff in the boot. Check out the leg room for rear kids seats first as the estate has the same legroom as the hatch, and only one of mine is in a booster seat now, but i wouldn't fancy putting a child in a stage 1 seat in the back as i think they would have there feet in the seat rear pockets.

Just remember it'll only be 18 months before you'll need the rear leg room.:P

Drat!

Skomaz beat me too it:orb_bonk:

We've just traded in an 06 Fabia for a new Octy estate, but we've got a silver cross 3D travel system, and the pram part fitted in the boot no problem, as long as it was the right way round! You just couldn't get anything else in without taking the parcel shelf out.

Have to agree with Lloyd55vrs the Quinny is the way to go plus they have good resale value on ebay

I have a 2001 Fabia hatch, and can I just say a Bebecomfort/ Maxicosi Loola Up fits in the boot sideways like it was designed for it!

Plus it leaves enough room for the matching carrycot if you get that.

I have a 6 weeks and 2 days old Fabia and a 6 week old son ;) it was a last minute buy cos needed 5 doors!! left it rather late!

So that would be my recommendation - we took a fabia out on a day long test drive and went to a pram shop, and this was the best fit!! nice pram too!!

brum brum!! haha :)

Oh and the Quinny is overrated, get the Loola up, miles lighter and easier to fold up, and you dont have to take any wheels off and theres no risk of punctures....

plus it has what look like disc brakes, alloys and alu frame ;) trust me, 4 months of arguements with the girlf and every weekend shopping round has educated me!!!

I'll check out the Loola but we are now looking at changing the car for an estate as recommended as I think that's the better long-term option really.

Sounds like a good plan:thumbup:

If you gonna keep the car any length of time though, definitely try to fit a stage 1 and/or 2 child seat in the back and check there is enough room for dangling legs, especially when the seat is tilted in the sleep position - saves having to change car again shortly.

Mind you, they grow out of everything so damned fast, might as well be the car as well:rofl:

Mine goes on the roofrack & basket!

I'm 5'11" and have no problem with a Stage 1 or 2 seat behind me in the Fabia - it was the rear facing Stage 0 seat that caused the problem when child No 2 came along and led to us getting the Octy.

Similarly, we had to put rear-facing seat behind passenger seat, but other than that, all we needed to do was take out parcel shelf to transport our Britax Vigour with either car seat adaptor, pushchair or pram attachment fitted.

hello, britax vigour 3wheeler fits with either one or both wheels removed and pushchair or carrycot on top, no room for much else though:thumbup:
