Should i be worried?

Featured Replies

Hello am going to look at a fabia vrs tomorrow 04 reg, the only problem is that is has covered 68K, is this a problem. what problems generally occur etc. the car is from a skoda dealer so it should be ok. i was just curious. Thanks Glenn

68k?? that's barely even run in mate.. make sure you get them to fit a new timing belt and water pump, or at least have documented history of when it was done

My advice is to take it over speed bumps or crap road services... listen for any knocks or strange sounds coming from suspension or engine bay (worn engine mounts)! Make sure the steering doesn't feel wobbly too, sign of worn suspension bushes.

:) talking from personal experience, although its probably mainly my car. Still worth checking though. As mentioned, cam belt is every 60k or 4 years so if it hasn't been done, make sure it is before you buy it! Water pump isn't as important *i think* (as far as i know its not part of scheduled maintenance, but most people have it done at the same time anyway as i think it requires the belt to be removed.)

fleeting memory

as above, 68k is nothing, check the rear carpets to see if they are damp/wet
