V68 & V154 ventilation flap motor change

Featured Replies

Hi (i'm new to this forum)

I have a 53 plate, Vrs diesel

I need to change the V68 & V154 ventilation flap motors on my fabia. (Sometimes the aircon doesnt work on cold) Does anyone have any step by step instructions they could provide me please?

Also do I need to buy the motors from skoda direct or are there some after market ones available?

replies gratefully received

Are you absolutely sure that's the problem? Poor temperature control (shall we say) can be down to many things. Has a fault code scan confirmed that they're faulty? Have you tried resetting them? It could be something else, like the evaporator temperature sensor...

IIRC the dash needs to be removed, circa 3hr job by Skoda to replace

Mine does this sometimes too - but if I turn the temp knob back up and down a few times then i find it sorts itself. Sometimes mine sticks on full hot and wont turn down. i turn off the fan for a few minutes the then twist the temp knob up and down a few times. And that sorts it out. maybe the control panel faulty??

Most likely EVAP sensor, there's a DIY guide in technical.

Yes indeedy:

Fabia evap temp sensor - how to (with pics) - BRISKODA - The Skoda Forums

Quick diagnosis:

If there aren't any 'shades' of warm between freezing and roasting, it's probably the flap motors;

If the air con works when you first start the car but not at other times, it's probably the evaporator temperature sensor.

The first will definitely throw up fault codes; the second doesn't, I don't think...

Thanks for the replies everyone, much appreciated!

On the vehicles last skoda service (prior to my purchase of the vehicle) it stated the V68 & V154 ventilation flap motors needed replacing, I presume they put the car on diagnostics during the service?

Basically, the aircon sometimes doesnt work on cold and is blowing hot air out.

Which do you recommend I do first.

Many thanks

p.s. are the motors only available from skoda?

p.s. are the motors only available from skoda?

There, TPS (if there's one near you), or a scrappy if they've got a newish Fabia in that's been rear-ended or WHY.

I couldn't say whether it's the sensor or the flap motors - only a fault scan can tell you that, really...
