VAGCOM help, Northants

Featured Replies

Hello

I have an old cable for vagcom which works on 311, its only an old serial cable though came with old laptop. Ive tried to use it on the 4 digit key matching,

Ross-Tech: VAG-COM: 4-digit Key Matching Info

I have my plastic tag with the scratched off code displayed but getting logon failure even though I enter it "01519"

Also I am confused: How come Skoda is still using 2002 and earlier 4 digit immobiliser codes for cars as late as mine? Or is it just that I need to be using the 409 canbus vagcom

I can't use my new laptop at the moment because its not serial ! The car is a 2006 model vRS.

Can anyone help me with this process. I have a cut key and programmed for remote unlocking and just looking to sort out the immobliser part.

I might also need the immobiliser replacement as the fob came from ebay but at the moment I am not even getting to the key programming side.

Anyone able to help in my area, with the latest ? I wouldn't like to update to the latest just to find out it still doesn't work !!!

Bribary:- A beer case from the supermarket to anyone who can fix it for me (tell me what you like!). :D I'm not posting my ECU though - I can drive to you if local though

If you are willing to trek up the A5 I'm near Hinckley in Leicestershire. I have VCDS v908 and VAG-TACHO 2.5, which should read your code direct from the Kombi, if it uses the 4-digit type. PM me if you need to contact me.

Our site sponsor Unit 18 is in your area, have you tried them? I also know someone in Towcester if that helps.

Thanks for those possibilities guys. All the more urgent as I just found that my vRS doesn't seem to have an immobliser bypass procedure like I thought it had ??? I fancied trying it at it would have confirmed I have the right code.

Haven't checked on anyone yet, the most local would make sense first. I think you are a round trip of 100 miles Hauptmann but I dont know when you might be free.

I happen to be at Cov tommorow for an exam in the morning til afternoon !

Anyway no panic - until I lose my only key :o)

Not sure where you are, but Chriskite has hex+com, as does unit 18 which is near Bozeat.

Cheers for that, although first port of call, Hauptmann says hes about tommorow

Coincidentally seeing as Im not that far out from him (about 20 miles) tommorow and then its also ideal direction to head back to mine ! So Im gonna take up his kind offer first, but thanks anyway.

It will be interesting if the SKC can come from the ECU and ties up with my plastic tag
