Convenience Settings have changed on their own

Featured Replies

I've had my FL Elegance estate for about a month now. A few days after it was delivered i changed some of the convenience settings using the Maxidot (factory fit option).

I changed it so you only have to press the remote once to open all the doors and turned off the plip-noise when the doors lock/unlock with the remote. Also I turned on the anti-hijack so the doors lock automatically when you drive off and unlock when you pull the key out.

Today I discovered that i needed to press the remote twice to open all the doors. It has stayed like that all day. Also the anti-hijack isn't working today either but the remote plip-noise is still off.

I checked on the maxidot and the settings are all still as I left them. So after about 30 days it has decided to ignore some of these settings.

Anyone else had this problem?

I guess i can try doing the Factory reset option and then setting what I want again.

Are you using the same key?

I know you can customise the electric seat/mirror settings (L&K) according to different key fobs but I am not sure if this customisation extends to convenience settings such as these.

Haven't seen this in our Octavia yet (only had it for a week), but our BMW 530 certainly has a mind of its own. Sometimes - maybe 10 times a year - the various settings on start-up are completely different from what they were when you last shut down the car (even when using the same fob).

I think there might be something in the different key theory. Also IIRC the settings were changed when I got mine back from the dealer after some routine servicing.

I've had much the same problems on my L & K. I set the anti-hijack locking to active and when in my local area (very rural) everything is OK. But when I travel to other areas, especially airports and sea ports these settings don't work. All I can think of is the presence of radar signals affecting the settings. Just a thought.

Mac

Try putting the ignition on, and wait about 5 sec before cranking the engine.

It does. I had the same thing when i gave my Fiancee the spare key to the car. I had to set them all again

You might be onto something here. I am using the same key... but I did check the car was locked the night before by pressing the spare remote lock button. Next morning, when it went wrong I was using my key again.

I haven't been out in the car today but tomorrow I will try setting things back to how I like them.

Reset and changed to my choices today. Working okay again now - hope it stays like that!
