Buying 53 plate fabia - "puffing" noise when pressing accelerator

Featured Replies

Hi All,

new to the forum, so sorry if this has already been posted.

Looking to buy a fabia and had a look round what appeared to be a solid clean car earlier. Its a 1.2 silverline 12 v. Hpi clear, 45k on clock, non main dealer service history.

All going well on check, body work good, alloys fine, inside clean and engine bay looks as it should. Started it up and pressed the accelerator, and thats where my question comes. Every time you touch the pedal there is a noise just like you are pumping air into a push bike tyre, just before the engine revs, could even say it sounded dump valve like,

Bloke banged on about its normal and car runs like a dream, however ive never heard of such a thing before. Any thoughts?

Sure its not the induction noise? (ie air being pulled into the engine when you rev it?)
