Do you have a factory fitted Columbus + Phone & VAG-COM?

Featured Replies

Does your Superb II have a factory fitted Columbus + Bluetooth Phone, and do you have VAG-COM?

I need a favour if you do please :D

I have an Octavia Facelift to which I have fitted a Columbus & Bluetooth and I am struggling to get the coding right so that the Phone shows up on the Columbus.

I would be grateful if someone could do a VCDS scan on their Superb so that I can compare your coding with mine and maybe solve the problem.

Thank you

Does your phone have rSAP

I thought this was needed to show up contacts on Columbus/Bolero

No it's a SE C905

I managed to get it all sorted, it was a coding problem.

Thanks for your reply.

On the phone you do need remote SIM set to 'on' though as well, so people know :)

Steve

Hi there, I have a SE C905 as well - could you be a star and tell me what you have to do to get it to work??

Cheers

Sorry I'm no expert on this but I think the Bluetooth Phone kit in the Superb is different to the one I have.

My SE C905 just paired up with the car without any problem.

I think the Superb Bluetooth is rSAP and a compatible phone is required for full functionallity of the phone system.

Sorry i can't be of any more help.

Liam

Ah well, looks like I'm going to have to buy a cheap pay as you go Nokia then!! Thanks anyway for your help.

Ross

Don't really see why you wouldn't be able to get the C905 working with your setup Ross. Can't see that the control of the phone and communication between it and the module will be substantially different to what Liam has.

What stage are you upto? Is it paired correctly and do you have phone control & phonebook listings within Maxidot at the moment?

Steve

Hi Steve

Not getting anywhere with my phone at all - maxidot just keeps saying my phone is not compatible. Have been into my dealer and they couldn't get it to work either - other half's Nokia 7373 works a treat so she's enjoying rubbing it in!! Looked into it a bit further and my phone uses A2DP protocol for bluetooth, and not the RSAP required, plus as my phone has it's own OS so I can't even download and install the RSAP software onto it that you can use with Windows Mobile....total pain in the *** as love my phone and don't want the hassle of having to remove my sim and put it into another phone to get it to work, but can't see I have any choice??

Do you know if you're running the latest SE firmware on the phone Ross? I *think* you can now update remotely through the SE PC Suite but can't be 100% - don't have any real experience of current SE kit I'm afraid.

There must be some way through this if others are using the same phone model without problem - I'm sure of it :)

Steve

Yep, I'm using the latest firmware (just confirmed this again in SE PC Suite). Do you know of anyone then who managed to get this to work??

Well Liam has his working and is likely to be using the BT module revision as you...

Steve

Am getting a bit confused now - how would I get it to work then if I don't have the option to enable RSAP??

This is my understanding of the 2 kits:

The Superb kit has its own built in SIM so that when a phone is connected it is handed over to the car, the phone can only be accessed via the car. The kit I have does not do this and I can still make calls etc using the phone or the car.

Sorry about the poor description but this is how it was explained to me.

No there is only one SIM. Its your SIM in your phone. What the car has is a fully integrated phone with aerial. Once set up it communicates via Bluetooth with your phone to access the SIM for the phone number, it then in effect turns everything off in the phone such as transmitter and receiver.

You can access and view all your contacts that you have in your phone on the info display in the car.

As soon as you turn the car ignition off the the phone automatically 'restarts'

Another "fix" get a cheap pay as you go phone that works with the superb then set call divert on your main phone when you get in your car,

Not ideal, i know but if you only need the phone occasionally when driving might be an idea.

Found more 'up-to-date' firmware on a sony forum website and have tried that but still no joy. Decided to bite the bullet and bought a cheap unlocked Nokia 2630 which works a treat - just pop my sim in which takes 2 mins - just as quick as doing call divert and even better don't have to top up the phone:thumbup:
