'Briskoda / DW Team Detail' on 'Unit18's' own Allytech's motor.......

Featured Replies

Your very own resident 'Supercar Detailer' and I linked up last weekend for a very fun day of detailing on Ally's very own 'workhorse' motor:

G220 + Makita vs BMW E36 318is......... - Detailing World

Can't stress how much of a good day we had and many thanks to Chris_Focus and Allytech.........

How long does that method stay on the front bumpers then? :)

DW wouldn't let me a message but how did the the trim experiment work out....I know Peanut butter is cheapest but were the others worth the extra pennies

Now that is a good question and I will have to come back to you on that one, for me the application was a little 'messy' but it looked as good as the other trims considering the price of the product.........:D

In another thread someone had asked for a decent 'trim dressing' product and I suggested Black Wow as I had heard it was good, using it for the first time I have to say I was impressed but it is a little expensive. Chris and I both agree that 303 Aerospace is the better priced product but also for the results it gives, inside and outside the car.

Think I will invest in some Black Wow anyway............:D

Looks good :D

Having seen this car in the flesh, I was blown away with how glossy the paint now looks, and how defect free it is. BMW paint is fecking hard, so defect removal isn't easy. The feel to the paint is really silky too, very nice indeed.

Being a solid colour rather than metallic, the photos don't do it justice.

Top work as always Simon.

Excellent job as always

I have seen this car in the flesh a few times and that is a dramatic improvement.

I enjoy reading your threads on detailing world. From the beginning to the end there is so much "detail" but it also sounds like your having fun and that you are enjoying it which also helps. Keep up the good work.

Likewise.

Its nearly as good as watching him do it LIVE!

Looking forward to my thread Simon! :) I've got no decent pics of my car, and the weather has been apalling :(

Just replied on the DW, but for the benefit of the Briskoda faithful too:

"On the bumper/trim restoration, I've had best results with Meg's #39 Vinyl Restorer, then 303 over the top - peanut butter (smooth) is indeed a good, cheap substitute though!"

As we spoke on Saturday Tom, Brisky only allows a few photos per thread so it has to go on DW.........:o

I didn't realise there was a limit when using IMG tags, could always spread it over several posts! :P

Its ok mate, I'm patient, just look forward to it! Would be nice to have the full-res images on a disk though :o

I can see many advantages with a rotary but I can also see that it is possible to achieve a good finish with a DA working with the KBM, I will certainly invest in one this year but will keep the DA's in reserve.........

You been up to anything recently?
