Fl parking sensor query?

Featured Replies

Just reading the Skoda uk website and it was saying the rear parking sensors also come with a camera picture in the stereo unit once you select reverse??

Can anyone confirm please?

Not so much a camera picture... but a little graphic which gives you a visual representation of how far away your are from detected objects.

Any pics available..?

cant you get a camera on the superb or yeti?

but yes on the octavia its just a graphic of the rear bumper at the top of the screen then little bars appear either far away or close depnding on the proximity of an object to each individual sensor...thats what I like as it tells you which part of the car is closest to an object even if you cannot see it out the rear window

It is a great system and I have started to use reverse parking at work. Also good for spotting the wheelie bins in the blind spots. The graphics give an accurate image of what is behind you IMHO.

Can you please post a picture of this.. ;)

Im curious about this aswell, i am waiting for my Octy to be deliverd. Orderd with the rear parking sensor and the Bolero ..

Here you go....freshly taken, just for you. :)

That isn't a Bolero though....

Yeah the new bolereo is even better graphics

Sigh......you can't please some people. Go out, start your car, put it in reverse and also get close enough for it to show the distance marks, take a photo and upload it and yet the first comment is a criticism. Nice.

Oh I see, so it shows the field of the radar too in the pic? Looks quite nice that. Took some figuring out though on first glance as I couldn't figure out what I was looking at.

A Bolero might be on the list in the future for a retrofit. Quite a nice upgrade from the Stream me thinks.

Will need to wait for a few to pop up on eBay though.....

Not at all, it was a lovely picture......

LOL - was just kidding. I assumed (wrongly) the image wouldn't be too different. Seems they've made a bit of an effort compared to the Stream if that Golf one is anything to go by.

i just stuck with the reverse sensors from ebay 20.00 euros perfect.

You'll see soon enough in real life Chrispy when I get mine, and bring it to the office.

Swine! :D

I am looking forward to seeing your new car I must admit. Just think though how much more it will weight than mine with all that kit. You might have to lighten it a bit by donating some to me. :D

LOL.... nah a bluefin will soon see it with just over 200bhp and a load more torque. Thats should counter the weight ;)

Not identical (pic from a Golf I think), but close enough...

thats not a bolero either!

on the bolero it has blue bars that get brighter as they get closer..and each sensor has it own set of blue bars so it shows in exactly which section of the bumper the object is

And where is the the picture to prove that your statment is correct? ;)

yeah and having had a similar but superior system in a BMW 520D Touring which was fitted with the business navigation pack and the large dash screen, I can tell you that after the first ten minutes you won't use it. If you can't figure out how far your vehicle is from an obstacle from using the mirrors, turning your head or listening to the tones then you probably shoudln't be driving as you obviously have no spatial awareness ;)

I thought mine was the absolute dogs danglies and spent ages showing it off to mates but after a while you just forget its there!

Seriously, it looks nice and is not expensive but its just a gadget and you will ignore it after a while. Come back in a couple of months and be honest!!

Gotta admit I didn't even realise mine had a picture on the head unit for a while as I always look behind me when reversing and use the beeps to help with low items that I can't see like bollards and high kerbs.

Part of me thinks it's a bit of a gimmick/ novelty really as ideally you should be looking behind you when reversing and not relying on mirrors and a graphic on your stereo to tell you whether you're about to hit a wall or something.

I think it works quite well but as it's the first car I've had with this feature I'm still unsure whether to trust it completely so I still look backwards. However the amount you can see is less than my previous car so I'm glad I've got the parking sensors too but I agree that you have to keep turning away from looking backwards to see it. Maybe if there was a display at the back instead it would make it easier. I don't know how much better a camera would be that showed a view of the back instead though.

Bolero on my FL does not have any blue bars. The beeps just get more frantic the closer I get. The animated view is of of the rear only , is in various shades of orange ,and shows clearly and accurately where the obstruction is situated.
