Remap Done.(Custom Code Stage 1)

Featured Replies

Hi All ,

Well i've had my car remapped today at Midland VW.They've put the Custom Code Stage 1 remap on my standard Vrs.

My first view is that there is alot more power and torque from 2 - 2.5rpm all the way to 6k.The power does come in alot harder and, just keeps pulling and pulling.

I think that there is tiny bit more lag than standard but its well worth it.

Regarding Midland VW , Their service and feedback is first class and they have answered any questions / info with great detail.

If you would like any info or have any questions. Please ask away :)

Be careful with CC,that's all i'm saying.

why's that? theres a cc dealer local to me and i've been thinking of getting a re-map

Had mine remapped with revo, I agree there is a tiny bit more lag but the power improvements are great.

What bhp and torque figures did you have before and now?

Not a very useful post jaymd. Just trying to scare jay_w or do you actually have something to say?

CC are know to run a lot of boost which can cause and has done damage to the engine and turbo.I know of a member on her who recently had to pay a lot of money out for engine/turbo work and he WAS running CC,but isn't now.

I very nearly went for CC but changed my mind due to reviews on other forums.

The customer service also put me off.

Jaymd - Cheers for the warning mate , i do my best to luck after my engine/turbo , its always been heated/cooled after any hard driving, and i service my car atleast once a month and i also check most things weekly.

I'm thinking about getting a liquid gauge and a normal boost gauge just so i can keep my eye on whats going on when driving etc.

As regards to CC's customer service i can't make any comments but Midland VW's c/s is first class.

Bond007 - Hiya mate , Well i was thinking about getting it done for a while , i done months of research and i went for the CC remap because : A) local dealer B) heard nothing but good things on here and other websites..

Clarry1 - Hiya mate , not got any graphs but the drive of the car is so different, off boost feels just lie standard but on boost its like its got a firework up its exhaust.

You're not thinking of Custom Tuning and JCB's epic broken ECU saga are you jaymd?

Totally different company I think

There are a couple of members on here who have CC remaps, Rob Clubley and GarryC (Garry has stage 3). The boost is very high (23psi) but the engines and turbos don't seem to have had any problems. What I don't get is how other companies can achive similar results with more conservative boost levels

FACT!! A new turbo & complete engine rebuild. That Is all I can say on the CC phase1 remap. 21-23psi peak boost was what I was getting with the map & that figure Is not just from me either.

I offer an excellent "putting back to standard" service should you require it - just ask Oggy!

Thank you Ben:thumbup:. The thing Is, apart from the pull at the top end due to now running 10psi of peak boost, the standard map Is alot better than what was taken off. Just to note also that the standard map was put on two weeks before the engine rebuild was carried out.

I can't wait to get a proper map.
