Just had the Major Service done

Featured Replies

My fabia 1.9TDI is almost 5 yrs old so decided on the major service plus 3 new tyres.

Glad to report all the brakes were fine and the exhaust was fine, the tyres are Continental PremiumContact 2. Took the car to a independent which use to be a Skoda dealer ( Fletcher Bros, Halifax ) and the cost including the tyres and the full service was £360 ( £80 for 2 hour labour ). Did not go to the main dealer this time because the costs plus I am going to keep the car for a few more years so I wanted to see what the service was like at the Independent.

I have a fantastic reasonably local independent so its only really anything that requires in-depth skoda knowledge that I take a visit to the dealers. Did the £80 labour include VAT as thats a reasonable hourly rate for 2 hours of work I'd say.

Must say apart from the fabia's known electrical faults, my 1.9TDI Elegance is also a strong strong runner.

Without VAT for the labour cost.
