how do I remove the trim panel on boot lid?

Featured Replies

Octavia 2 - VRS - 57 Plate.

Car had its first service last week, at which the dealer "fixed" a fault rear washer. Since then there has been a rattle from inside the trim panel on the boot lid, mainly when opening and closing the boot. Sounds like a screw, or washer rattling around.

How do i take the trim panel off as I cant be bothered to waste an hour or so driving back to my local dealer.

I have undone the hex screw by the pull handle, didnt help much. Any ideas?

Cheers!

Do a search for rear wash not working, and you'll find instructions.

looks like take the screw out and then un-clip the clips, i assume its just a case of pulling on the panel at the right spot...

from searching on here the rattle is common, probably one of the clips being loose....

It will be one of the little spring clips! The break out of the trim when it's removed and if they dont extract them and fit it back to the trim, they get pusshed into and stuck in the tailgate box section . It's real pain, 'cos if they get in there it's nigh on impossible to get them out! I stopped mine from rattling by adding extra cavity wax and "sticking" the little begger in place! I could actually see it moving, but even the finest long nosed pliers wouldn't get it! You hear it rolling about as the tailgte is opened or closed!
