help needed on vrs purchase

Featured Replies

Hi all,

new to this site and the whole german car scene really i've been a jap boy for the past few years.

anyway i'm after a octavia vrs and am trying to sell my current car which isnt seaming too easy:mad: i've been offered a p/x over piston heads spoke to the chap and he says the the orignal turbo let go on him and hes just replaced it for a ko3s replacement but its smoking due to the oil from the damaged turbo being in the exhaust still?!

now i dare say that could be true but how common are smoke related issues on these cars as in turbo seals, valve stem seals etc and how could i tell when i go to view the car?

thanks alot!

what you trying to p/x with just out of interest

Walk away...

Theres plenty more fish in the sea.

Valve stem seals do go, but they take quite a while to do it. Turbo oil seals also, but less commonly. Sounds like you have someone trying to offload - might be worth keeping an eye on the For Sale section here instead, so you'll be buying a known car or one from a known owner.
