Missing rear Mud Flaps

Featured Replies

Hi all, Just to let you know that I have bought a new Octavia Greenline in white with the new 1.6 Tdi CR engine. Very much more refined than the old Mk1 1.9 TdiSLX that has given me such sterling service over the past 10 years. I'm delighted with the new car, there is only one grumble, the rear mud flaps are missing.

On contacting the dealer, he was adament that to achieve the aerodynamic efficiency, the mudflaps have been ommitted. There is no reference to this in the catalogue, which clearly states that rears are standard fittment from the "S", & "SE" upwards. Another bit of nonsence is that a spare wheel is not available as an option for this model for the same reasons??????

Has any one else come acoss this load of balony????? :thumbdwn:

Looking at this picture.

which is an official skoda one, the greenline does indeed have no mudflaps fitted. Cannot comment on the spare wheel though.

All manufacturers of Eco cars really push for less drag and weight this is just true to form.

You could retrofit the mudflaps yourself.

If you have a spare wheel well in the boot then you could always buy a wheel and jack etc from the For Sale or Wanted section of the forum, or Ebay - a standard 15 or 16inch wheel should fit.

Next to the Greenline spec, the brochure says that the spare wheel is available as an option. It then refers you to the pages where the options are listed, and the Greenline is excluded from the spare wheel option
