AHF egine cuts out, hot relay?

Featured Replies

2000 Octavia 1.9l 110hp AHF diesel, engine cuts out while driving. The auto car/assistant/salvage guy said it might be an engine relay that gets hot. The engine started after 15 minutes. Any thoughts?

109 relay maybe? that seems to do most things! When the car cuts out, is it stationary, or does it do it when moving? Does to start up again if you turn the key?

It's moving. But sometimes won't start when stopped. If I turn the key to ignition and wait until all the lights go out, the it will start. I thought this was because of the validation of the key.

I'd go with relay 109 too.

Where is it located? Is it an easy swap?

It's in the relay plate under the dash by the steering column. Need to remove the covers from the bottom of the dash to access, but fairly easy to get to.
