Unswept windscreen

Featured Replies

I noticed a significant portion of unswept windscreen, approx. 35mm wide parallel to the offside door pillar. This, together with the pillar itself and large door mirrors, creates a larger than ideal blind spot for pedestrians crossing uphill R-to-L. Fortunately I saw the pedestrian approach from further right, but seemed to disappear for ages before emerging into the swept area.

AFAICS *all* newer cars are getting worse in this respect with more 'stuff' being put in the way of the old 'quarter light' position. Door panels are raised to increase side protection but seat heights need to rise correspondingly to see over the larger door mirrors. I'm constantly having to wag my head around to see island kerbs when exiting roundabouts!
