Featured Replies

Hi guys and girls sorry if this seems a silly question but my Octavia VRs is nearly 3yrs old and only at 18k miles it has variable serving it has had a brake fluid change and 1 service at 2 yrs but will it need anything other than an MOT ?

Thanks :-)

It might need a wash :)

is that an offer?

Any niggles you might get fixed under warranty?

I presume you've had the 26E6 DPF update?

Is the cambelt 80k/4 years on the PD170? double check with your dealer on that.

Personally I wouldn't have variable servicing on a car with such low mileage, 1 service in three years isn't great. I would think a service every 12 months would be more like it. Just my two penneth you understand.

SWMBO's vRS TDI is just over 2 years old and its been booked in for a second (free) service irrespective of the variable service regime.

If you've done 18k in 3 years I'd also suggest moving onto the fixed interval servicing.

Get your MOT carried out up to 28 days before it is due and then anything that causes the car to fail can be covered by warranty, but you won't lose days on the MOT date.

Yes, get switched to fixed intervals, definitely.

Apart from that just get the car checked over before the warranty expires, make sure everything is as it should be.

Many reported top end power losses after 26E6 update, so I would say that if you had no issue bynow, you might skip it.

Yes, pop it around to my place and I will dig out the bucket and sponge :)

I think you will also find that the free Skoda Assist will also run out so you'll need to ensure that you are covered for roadside breakdown etc (mine also hits 3 years next month, will follow the tip about getting an early MOT).

Cheers,

Balham
