Yeti

Featured Replies

I had a close look at a Yeti today while waiting for my car to be seen to.

The clearance looks quite good at first glance but the bumpers are deceivingly high. At the front, part of the engine undertray is below the lower front control arm, although some forward mudflaps are lower, they're rubbery and flexible, so shouldn't affect clearance. At the rear, where the coil springs meet the rear control arm, it's a similar clearance. I pushed the short edge of an A4 sheet to it, and it measured about 7-7.5 inches.

The boot isn't very big, but it does have the trick removable rear seats, so if you don't need rear seats and large boot space together, it would probably be ok.

There slight 'dishing' under the boot carpet intended for a spare wheel, but it would wholly enter the boot space, and prevent the boot carpet being re-placed.

The front air vents don't fully close, so not like the Octavia. Don't know if there's more air 'volume' control elsewhere though. The door mirrors are smaller all round than the Octavia, so less to block 'quarter-light' area visiblity or get bashed, a reversal of the current VAG Dumbo door mirror trend.
