New Lens?

Featured Replies

Picked up a couple of lenses this week and now have to decide which to keep.

Sigma 70-300mm APO DG Macro

and

Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 APO EX HSM

F2.8 is lovely but it may be a little big for what i need it for and how much i will use it.

Will post some pics up tonight of the difference in size.

Can't wait to try it out.;)

Whoah, I must have just been through a time machine ;)

If you think the 70-200/2.8 is heavy, you should try handholding the 120-300/2.8 all day long :D

Having owned the Sigma 70-300mm, and the Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8, I'd say the f/2.8. The fast long lenses are just nicer. :)

agreed

I've got a 70-200 EX f2.8 and a 120-300 EX f2.8, both are superb lenses

fast, sharp, good IQ and colour rendering

of course, you get what you pay for though - the 70-300 is about a quarter of the price.

also the EX lens is a much more durable piece of kit.
