hi guys, this afternoon i popped up the shops in the vrs, only about a mile up the road. On the way back i was at some traffic lights and i could hear a tapping noise echoing off the car next to me.

I got home, and i beleive the noise is coming from the top of the engine. the tapping does increase with the revs.

I know the oil is lowish and ill be going to skoda for some and a filter, but could i have dropped the valve or 2?

btw the cars done 61k miles and ive put on 2500 since May

if you had dropped a "valve or two" it would be making a lot more noise

get some oil in it, better still, do an oil and filter change, then see what the noise is like

I got this at the moment on a MK2 Octy 1.9TDi.Its very tappety at the top end when cold right through to normal temp.Its just had a oil and filter change from a Skoda dealer and the oil is of correct spec.Not amused at the moment.Cars only done 34K:mad:
