Asus Motherboard issue

Featured Replies

Hi i have an Asus Strike Extreme std mother board running intel duo core 2 e600 with asus 8800ultra 768mb pci-e with corsair 4x1gb ddr2 800mhz (CM2X1024-6400)

now it was working fine with all fours sticks in for two years and then one day on the LCD poster it said CPU INNIT and i did the usual reset Bios cleared CMOS to no avail.

Rang Scan Computers who said we had issues with this board before, so now i was kinda less worried but annoyed it had gone faulty. I sent motherboard back and they sent me a replacement Same issue again! i sent it back again and then it came back stilll didnt work. Im starting to get angry now they now say theyve sent it off to china.

Today it came back and i rebuilt my pc only with 2 1gb sticks in so if it booted i could customise the bios to the settings that was working ok. but as soon as i plugged in the power to the psu it said CPU INNIT and i hadnt even switched the thing on.

So Ive given up with this board as i think its out of warrenty now and im looking to buy a new one, ive posted in the wanted thread incase anyone has a mobo to suit my spec other wise i think this is prob the best. Im just wondering if anyone agrees or thinks i may have problems? I checked the factsheet off gigabyte who say that cm2x1024-6400c4 800mhz is ok so slightly different timming but nothing major. so i think this is the best i can find for spec and value as original was £150 and im not paying that again so £50-60 max brand new and this is what ive found

Gigabyte GA-EP41-UD3L iG41 Socket 775 8 channel audio ATX Motherboard

Gigabyte GA-EP41-UD3L iG41 Socket 775 8 channel audio ATX Motherboard - Ebuyer

from ebuyer £53.80 with super saver delivery

Any suggestions? Ryan

Have you checked:

- Your CPU isn't knackerd?

- Your CPU fan is working ok?

- Your PSU is in good working condition and the extra CPU 12V lines are all connected?

That last one catches out a lot of people.
