When scanning my car with VCDS.

Although nothing on the car appears to be not working, except my newly fitted Maxidot, this is a failure that predates the fitting of this.

I have every confidence that vrStu and/or shark_90 can find the cause of this problem but in an attempt to get to the bottom of it I post the fault here for any advice comments or suggestions, especially if you think it is at the root of my Maxidot problem, which, basically, is that it does not displays menus other than the trip computer and spped limit warning.

Any help gratefully received.

The suggestions are a dead fuse and wiring and connectors to the module.

I'm sure Stu has already checked the coding to make sure everything is present that it thinks should be, so that's my thoughts.

Doesn't this occur if you disconnect the battery?

Even if it does, it should clear with VCDS and this one doesn't.. it comes back immediately.

I take it you guys have checked all the fuses, that the connector is on correctly and there isn't something coded in that doesn't exist that the car is expecting to see on Terminal 30?

A grubby connection with high resistance, combined with temperature variation and vibration could do something like this I would have thought.

Do you have the wiring diagrams to hand to say what is hanging off the system?

I'd have to check the wiring diagram but I think T30 is a permanent live from the battery. I didn't go through the fuse box or start taking the dash to bits as it was dark!

I take it the battery is in good condition? It might be worth trying yours on it Ben.
