Should i Swap ???

Featured Replies

I have been thinking of swapping over from my 57 reg tdi vRS to the c/rail vRS , seen some really good deals on ex demo 2nd hand c/rail ones at the minute and they are even a few facelifts ones just popping up around £17k , but to be honest i can get a brand new one for £500 more and 3yrs intrest free payments  :thumbdwn: more chucky

Mines all paid for , has 38500 miles on the clock , all the uaual bits maxidot / parking sensors , dual climate , 2 x new front tyres ( 2 weeks ago) only bad thing is the usual stone chips / 2 slight kerb mark thanks to the mrs :rotz: if i was to keep the car then i was getting the wheels re-furbished & front bumper re-sprayed over to make the car 100% new again and its just been booked in for its 40k service in 2 weeks (£270) so if i can get sorted soon then might be tempted ;)

Any c/rail owners out there think its worth going from tdi to c/rail

Had my PD vRS for two years and just changed to a CR vRS and it is brilliant!

The engine is so refined, smoother and so much more linear in its response. It is easier to drive in traffic - the PD sometimes is a bit 'clunky'.

Mine is a FL and brand new so I am still running it in, It does not appear to be any slower, but lacks that initial kick that you get with the PD.

The FL also is more refined overall, never mind with the engine being much quieter. There are new wing mirrors and they have changed the door seals and it has cut the wiind noise down.

IMHO it was definitely worth the change and it is now the car that I actually wanted it to be when I bought my PD vRS (I came from a Honda petrol so was used to a smooth refined engine but wanted better economy).

I swapped my 57 plate PD for an 09 CR back in March.

If you are getting a good deal i'd say go for it. IMHO it is a better engine (not that the PD was bad) and is certainly more economical. The refinement and engine noise is certainly better.

Thanks guys , you have made me mind up for me now.

Hi,

Give Jeremy Taylor @ Rainworth Skoda ( Mansfield ) a call, they are still doing belting deals at the moment & can match DTD & good p/x prices too. Well worth a call. 3 of us from this forum have ordered of him in the last month, nice chap. Good luck.

Blimey that was easy! ...are you sure you hadn't already decided? :D

Already over the edge, just wanted someone to say he'd have a safe landing:D

I've got a CR and I think it's a heap of sh!t !!!

Only joking - go for it
