New Speakers Really Quiet!

Featured Replies

Hello all, just installed new speakers in my mk1 octy vrs, sound quality is great but when I turn the volume up to a decent level (not excessively load) the stereo goes very quiet and I can hardly hear the darn thing!

I have the original symphony head unit, speakers are ALPINE SXE-1725s at the front and JVC CS-V425 at the rear.

Any suggestions as to how I can improve my sound?

Should a aftermarket HU sort this out?

Thanks for reading,

Dave

Your stereo is probably not pushing enough power to sufficiently power them. An aftermarker radio will surely make a big change. I recently upgraded the audio in a passat with a similar set of speakers and the difference was quiet noticable. Good luck. :)

BTW : You dont need anything too fancy when you are ready to purchase (unless you want to) Just make sure it is pushing out anything over 40W per channel (which most do nowadays). Also there is a cable that amplifies the radio signal that you should get, costs less than a tenner off ebay.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Cawmere

Have purchased an alpine HU off ebay with 50w per channel so that should do the trick. Cheers
