Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2s are available from Kwik-fit at the moment at a very good price for a set of 4, especially if ordered online..... Actually they seem to have taken them off their website. Ignore.

Good tyres, got them myself from E-Tyres! Supposedly noted for having a decent lifetime, guess that's why they're so pricey!

Agreed it does not exceed 149mph but I think I'll stick with what's specified by Skoda mate!

Speed rating is only part of the story, acceleration is the other aspect. I suspect W-rated are specified because the vRS puts a fair amount of torque through the front wheels and a stronger carcass is need for that reason.
