How do you removing emergency brake cover?

Featured Replies

I have a problem with the release button on the emergency brake. When the button is pressed to release the brake it remains stuck. Only after a few attempts to release the button will it pop back to place again.

I want to get into the brake mechanism to see if its a simple matter to fix but I can't get the plastic cover off.

Does anyone have any advise to either fix the button or take the plastic covering off?

Thank you

Matt

Thread moved, as it's a question not an answer.

However, I can give an answer!

If you remove the little tray thing right at the back end of the centre tunnel, you'll see two Torx screws. Remove these, and the entire trim will lift up. There'll be some clips to undo and the little rectangular piece below the handbrake lever will need to be removed, but once you've done that, the whole part should come away. Then, if I remember rightly, the leather / plastic sleeve around the lever should just pull off and you can do whatever you need to do to get it sorted! :)
