Rear Interior Light on Octy 2 Estate - Same as Front?

Featured Replies

Just a quickie as I haven't had time to look yet - Would the interior light fitting (with map lights) from the front fit the back?

Or is the back unit the same as anything else that has map lights (Fabia front)?

Just thinking it'd be useful for the kids to have a light of thier own as per the Fabia Estate which has them above the doors.

The FL vRS actually has a similar set of interior lights to the front in the back of the car as well, i.e. separate map lights. This is a change to my pre-FL vRS.

Swap them round and see if it works.

It will work 100%,both of them have three sliders and 100% compatible.Thing is when you open the doors you'll have 40 watts of light rather than 30 watts, more light ......

Watch out for the 5A fuse popping. Mine did after I left all the doors and hatch open when camping.:)

I've ordered the LED dome lights from superskoda, much brighter, white light and lower consumption.

Thanks for the replies guys - I feel a mini-mod coming on!

Will be interested to know how you get on with fitting them.

I also have some mental dome LEDs, like 24 LED cluster ones, so gonna need sunglasses I think, or it will be a bit like laying in a sunbed.

Just another quickie - all the interior lights (including rear maps) add up to 60w yes? - two 10w festoons plus four 5w for the maps - hence the 5A fuses blowing... can you get 6A blade fuses as I would have thought the wiring will more than cope with the extra amp.

Those mini blade fuses are rated at 5 or 10A IIRC. My replacement 5A has been OK but I have now got a spare just in case.I assume the original was at the bottom tolerance.
