Just want to say hi; I'm an expat living in Beijing and am looking at purchasing a new, semi-compact car and the Octavia so far is my favorite option. I currently drive an older Jeep Cherokee, but have had the sports car bug before with a few RX7s, MR2, 300ZX and Miata under my belt. However, a few years ago I saw the light and switched my sporting desires over to 2 wheels. My current other vehicle is a Suzuki GSXR 1000. My main reasons for choosing the Octavia are the solid, quality feel, value for money, and clean classic looks. I'll probably purchase a 2.0MPi or a 1.6 16V with a standard transmission. The other vehicles I was considering were the VW Sagitar (Jetta), VW New Bora and Mazda 3. So far the Skoda has captured my heart. Looking forward to spending a bit of time on here getting to know the car and other drivers.
