I've just bought a Fabia VRS. It is an '03 registered 07/03. I was wondering when they were introduced. My car was first registered to Skoda Special Operations Dover and was kept by them for a year, after having 20k miles put on it. Wondered if it might have been a press car?

Now got 95k and running like a dream

What colour is it? That certainly sounds like one of the 1st vRS's to be registered.

It's red, just a standard car.

Almost certainly a press car - even the Autocar one had a 53 plate...

Does the reg number start GN03K??, the first of the Skoda UK vRS's were GN03K--, and I think GN03KKL was one Colin McRae is pictured with in a press photo for Skoda Motorsport.

Just checked and it was registered 25 07 2003

My mothers Fabia vRS was launched June the 19th 2005 when Boltby reservior (near Thirsk) failed.

It was brand new at the time and had been locked in a (double) stone garage attached to the side of the house with another car.

The force of the flood water demolished a wall and the Fabia was able to float away approx 100m until it became snagged on a neighbour's patio.

All sorted now though, the house took two years to repair at a cost of over 100K and my mum also got a brand new 06 Fabia vRS.

Has anyone got any links to red press cars that might be mine ? I'd love to see her in print. Not exactly like having a works rally car but about as close as I'm ever likely to get.
