Random question really are there certain fault codes that bring up the Engine Management Light and ones that don't? Or does the fault have to be constant rather than intermittent?

I got a 17704 code come up on my Liquid Gauge this morning after driving through a puddle but after clearing it it hasn't come back, however the EML light never came on so if I hadn't checked the LG I wouldn't have know about it.

Likewise when I checked another members 1.8T 4x4 she had 17705 and 17545 fault codes but no EML showing. These were fixed by a TB clean and then erased. However, another member had the 17705 code due to his DV being set up wrongly, and that did show an EML until we fixed the problem :confused:

Mine also has 17705 and defo goes into limp mode....but no EML light :confused:
