I bought my folks a Skoda Fabia 1.4sport on an 05 plate and its broke down with the following. i have no idea about cars can anyone help?

Today the car engine cut off while stationary at traffic lights, re-started but no power above approx 20 mph. AA came out first guy engine fired up normally although an exhaust warning light came on (car manual says the speed was a limp mode to get to a garage). When the second guy came with the diagnostic machine the warning light did not come on. The following fault was a historic one and when he cleared it and ran the test again no fault appeared. This is what he wrote (double dutch to me):

EML OFF, CODE -P0322-IGNITION/DISTRIBUTOR ENGINE SPEED INPUT CIRCUIT NO SIGNAL, CLEARED CODE, FOUND NO FAULT WITH RUNNING, AND FAULT CODE DID NOT COME BACK.

Its done it again since then but only in 2nd gear its ok in 3rd

any ideas?

Suspect you have a loose cable to that sensor, or the sensor is failed.

Get the codes read again, and check the wiring under the bonnet.
