Travel / Tourist Mode on FL vRS

Featured Replies

Having read the supplement to the new FL brochure, it refers to Tourist Mode for changing the headlights for driving on the continent.

Is this just for vehicles with Xenons or can it be set up for normal headlights?

Fanks!

Normally just for xenons, just flatens the beam but doesn't fully convert. Not sure if there is an option for this on normal halogen headlamps???

You can set the standard projectors to have a flat beam for continental driving using a small screwdriver. It takes a minute or two per headlight - there are instructions linked off this forum. I used it last summer for a trip to France and had no problems.

Dear all, I used the method described here:

http://www.octavia-vrs.com/technical/EU_headlight.htm

to convert my UK headlights for driving on the continent.

I live in France and the car is registered in France and has just passed its "Control Technique" = MOT

I think they are perhaps a bit more lenient here in France for the Control Technique than UK MOT -- but the car got through without any further adjustment required (ie I didnt need to purchase French headlights -- which I thought I might have to.

cheers,

pat
