Footwell lighting!

Featured Replies

I just ordered these

5 x Pre wired 5mm Warm White LEDs - Prewired 12V LED on eBay (end time 16-Dec-09 14:55:43 GMT)

Hoping that they would be ideal to create an aftermarket footwell lighting solution. I very much took inspiration from Rob's take on this idea. So any help would be greatly apprecaiated Rob :D

What would be the best solution to wiring these up to come on with the courtersy light. I.e. when the doors are open or the car has just been unlocked? Idealy, i'd like to not have to splice into any wiring. Perhaps piggybacking from connections which are already there is a nicer method as it is more easily reversible.

I'll get another 5 for the passenger side if all goes well!

Thanks.

I have have just wired some in myself using blue LED strips... for the moment i am using power from the cigerette lighter socket ... but will end up using power from feed for the door marker lights eventually ( when i have more time) will watch to see if yours are successfull

I have some red leds on my current car which I've wired to come on with the stereo. these shine from the center console out into the footwell area (and one in the cupholder).

Looks good when dark - and on an unlit motorway means you can always get your insulated mug back whence it came !

Well, I shall try to find where the switch is that activates the main interior light to come on/off and aim to wire the LEDs to there. I'll make sure to take pictures and write up a review!
