Oil in water

Featured Replies

Came home this morning , to find oil running out of o/s/f grill area,on inspection i found oil had been pushed out of expantion tank,

The car was in dealer 1month ago for contamination in the expantion tank, which was put down to the oil cooler and was replaced, the car is now back at the dealer,

I was told this is "very rear"mmmm looking at previous threads i think not, !!

Assuming it's not blue and pink coolant mixed, then that seems like a porus head, oil cooler or something not too good.

Certainly not what you would want and I hope you get it sorted soon.

Could well be your oil cooler but also could be your headgasket it will need checking out i've only had to change one headgasket in two years on that engine they aren't very common for going.

My 2007 2.0TDI has just been diagnosed with a porous head, the combustion gases were leaking into the coolant system and then the pressurised coolant was leaking back IN to the bore causing big starting problems.

Good luck with it.

I hope you can get that sorted, makes me feel much better about my blue coolant topup incident! Any idea how they flush it out?

i would hope that the hoses wil be replased and possibley the radiator, and then flushed with detergent, you can use a small amount of soap powder and flush with water .
