Sticky EGR Valve ?

Featured Replies

Had a breakdown this evening while driving home from work.

Car was running fine until I was a mile from home, when I was stuck behind someone doing 20-25mph in a 30 zone.

All of a sudden, the car developed what seemed like a misfire, I knew it was going to stall,so I pulled over. Car ran ok, revved ok, but died as soon as drive was engaged.

Called the AA out, who couldn't find any error codes, revved the nuts out of it and took it for a blast. All seemed ok according to him and he suspected that it may have been caused by a sticking EGR valve ?

Could this be the cause ? A little dubious about driving through the rush hour traffic in the morning.

Its due a service soon anyway, so might try and get it booked in.
