Faults with mileage but date & time stamps wrong

Featured Replies

Did a scan today of our car and had a power steering intermittent fault, and an intermittent alarm sensor fault.

Whilst they had a fault detail in KM, the date stamp was 2000,00,00 and +00:00hrs

First time I've encountered any faults on any cars connected to so unsure why the time stamps are so wrong.

Could this be glitches, and no faults (I'll clear and check again in a week or so), or have I not done something to ensure correct timestamps?

I have noticed this also and put it down to the date and time not actually being stored.

I'll post the codes up tomorrow (on different machine) for peoples views on them.

So the mileage is the only stamp VCDS is able to get from the car?
