The octy needs new boots; but which Vreds?

Featured Replies

I need to replace the front boots on the 'Tavia (Dunlop Sport Maxx TTs are rubbish in the wet!) as they are getting low and they suck big time in anything resembling water. So I am looking at replacing them with my usual tyre company choice, Vredestein! But which ones? My choices are Ultracs Ultrac Sessanta Ultrac Cento Tyre size is 225/45/17 and whilst I enjoy a bit of spirited driving I do mostly slog it to and from work at 70mph from Havant to Littlehampton through Chichester with all the roundabouts. So I am looking for decent all weather grip (which I know the first two do) but also reasonable life (over 12k headin towards 15k) So which would you pick?

I have sesanta on the evo and they have lasted well, currently at 13k and probably another 3k in them so should suffice to 12k on a fwd. Good in the rain and dry, only criticism would be they are a touch noisy.

I had SporTrac3s on my Toledo and are currently snuggly fitted to the wifes vRS and trust me the Sport Maxxs make them sound like church mice over broken tarmac!I was interested if anyone had fitted the Centos?

How about Hankook V12 Evos? Receive good reviews and did get noted for being pretty quiet for sports-orientated tyres. Good price on them usually too.

Funnily enough I did look at those on Camskill but think i'll stick with what I know and am happy with :)

Ultrac Sessanta's ftw! Im amazed by the levels of grip these achieve in the heavy rain!
