Mirrors

Featured Replies

Whilst bored queing for a couple of hours at the Dartford Tunnel today I was playing with the wing mirror control. I hadn't noticed before that when you move the drivers mirror horizontally the passanger one moves aswell. Is this supposed to happen or is it a glitch in mine?

You may also have the option to turn that feature off via Maxidot

It makes sense to leave it on if more than one person uses the car as for a given person the relative position of the mirrors will be similar, so moving both at the same time by the same amount will make for quicker adjustment and less of it. Only thing to remember is to adjust the right mirror first (Moving both) and then see about the left mirror.

The main reason of this feature is during a reverse park isn't it, so you can point both mirrors down quickly?

The reason for it is so two different sized drivers can switch between mirror settings more quickly. The left mirror adjusting on its own is for reversing. Of course the LH mirror dips automatically when you select reverse if you have electric seats...

I might be wrong, but I think the synchro adjustment on my elegance used to only work in synchro on horizontal movement, not vertical. Would be a lot more useful if it did work vertically.Mike

yep thats what mine does. wonder what else ill discover after another 2 years.

This is news to me and I had to check it at lunchtime.Mine are also linked in the vertical adjustment when set to R. No maxidot.

I only have looked at the adjustment of the LHS mirror previously as am worried about kerbing when reversed.
