Whats gong to happen to saab

Featured Replies

Latest update on SAAB affair:

[confirmed:] Chinese BAIC (partner of the busted Koenigsegg/SAAB consortium) has bought the tools for the old 9-5 and 9-3 models and will probably produce these models in China in the future under own brand.

[rumour:] Negotiations between GM and Spyker (NL). A variety of the Koenigsegg deal: a small company producing hand built, exclusive sports cars with Russian risk capitalists in the background. Shaky is just the forename. I think we'll see a bankrupt Swedish car manufacturer shutting down in January.

I really hope Saab gets saved.. They really know how to make a big car go stupidly fast.

My Dad's had 3 9000's and 2 95's.

Can't argue that the 95 is WEEEELLLLLLL past it though. That Said, the last 95 they had (56 plate, luckily pre chrome specs) was stupendously quick!

My Mum had one of the last 9000's (Anniversary edition) with a 2.3 turbo. It's an auto, the size of a barge.. but still wheel spins in warm weather if ya really floor it. It's done nearly 100k and she refuses to get rid of it. I'm desperately trying to get her to test drive a Superb Estate when the demo's come in.. Just hope ones got a cream interior as she hates black.. another reason she won't get rid of the 9000 ;)

i had a 9-3 se convertible and loved it but the resale value was bad and yes the ignition was by the gearstick - reason, in the eventy of a crash your knees wouldn't get crushed against the keys. Took me a month to get used to putting the key in the centre and you could turn all instruments off at night except the speedo (i think) again to stop you being distracted on long journeys.

I do find it funny when people say its just a vectra underneath..... blah blah blah, me i drive an octavia thats just been rehashed from an old golf chassis but i like it.
