Retrofitting OEM Xenons with Axle Levelling Sensor

Featured Replies

I’ve been very lucky in getting hold of the following parts and I’m hoping to do an install on my Fabia..

.- OEM Xenon Headlights with ballasts

- Rear axle sensor and mounting plate

- Wiring loom for the sensor

I know where one end of the loom needs to go to which is the axle sensor.

(I didn’t remove the whole loom myself) where does the other end go and where do I route the cable?

Once fitted does the car need reprogramming to recognise the xenon’s and sensor?

I know it’s a tough job but I’m up for a challenge!!

Good luck!

Will this controller magically appear in your ECU

You may need it coding into the car for it to recognise the xenon system and then to initialise the initial set-up of them etc.

I was under the impression that you need a complete loom from a OEM xenon-equipped Fabia in order to do it properly. Do we need to ask if you're adding the required headlamp washers, or shall we leave that can of worms alone? :)

Ross (Lummox) would be the person to ask I reckon, but I've not seen him on here in a while...

I have a full loom from an OEM xenon Skoda... I wanted to know where the other end goes opposite to the sensor. I'll be fitting the washers after as I'll have to figure out how the plastic bits on the bumper connect to the washer pump... (I'll have to purchase these bits but managed to get the hose for it!!)

thanks for the help so far...

The washer covers are a simple click fit! the jets are operated by high pressure from the pump (which you'll need along with the 5l bottle)

I was reading up on the MK4 golf and retrofitting oem xenons and it mensions a levelling control unit which is behind the steering wheel...

but that uses 2 levelling sensors, not one.

I hope the Fabia doesn't need this, because I don't have it :(

I've called Ross & Unit18 - he is unsure where the control unit is for the xenons either... doesn't show on his system or where to wiring loom goes to... :(

I've spoken to a few different people and we all agree that there is a control unit somewhere on the car but we are not sure where, its possibily in the onboard supply control unit (boardnetz)

Anyone have any ideas? Where is the boardnetz?

Thanks!
