Water In Boot

Featured Replies

Please can someone tell me why water is collecting in the spare wheel well and under the cd changer under the carpet

i have now dried out 3 times due to condensation forming on rear window

the rear wash wipe pipe is not leaking and have had all the carpet in the back out and ran a hosepipe over car and cannot see any water coming in

the carpet covering the spare wheel is dry and i have checked the foot wells both front and rear and they are dry

this is doing my head in i cant see how water is getting in !

No holes in the bottom of the well?

Replace the boot seal. Mine did the same, was replaced under warranty by Rivervale and its been fine since

If it's by the CD changer it may well be that the water line to the rear wiper nozzle has popped off its connection - the tube pops off a connection at that point on some cars. Failing that the boot seal is the number one offender.

Mines the same tbh. was looking at it last night with wardy and theres water inside the boot seal , think i may have a look at the washer pipe connection over the weekend

I've been having the same issues.

I've not had the same volumes of water sat on the internal trim, i've a nice collection of mould forming under the carpet though! Will be trying a seal when the funds can stretch.

This leaky boot syndrome seems a common fault - can anyone tell me whether it only affects hatchbacks or is the estate similarly affected?

Cheers,

Bob
