Octavia II FL, Bolero not showing parking display

Featured Replies

Hi, sorry for posting here and the Tech area - but I noticed that the Tech area was just for Freedom members.

I have just bought a new Octavia vRS (2009 Face Lift model) and have had the parking sensors factory fitted front and rear. However the Bolero radio unit doesn't display any parking graphics. The dealers are foxed and will have to contact Skoda to try and get a solution from them... But in the meantime...

Is this a problem that others have had? If so has it been fixed?

The manual says it should show a display, and I have seen a photo of this display on another forum, so I want it too!

Graham.

Not seen any other posts reagarding the Bolero display not working - it's as if they're not factory fit and someone has forgotten to code the Bolero to display the sensors!

I presume you have the sensor on/off button fitted on the centre console? Does it light up & work?

either that or you have the old controller for the park distance control, but some how i cant see that happening

Hi,

Yes I have the sensor on/off button fitted (due to the front parking sensors) and it works as expected. The sensors also beep correctly on both front and rear. It is only that the display on the Bolero isn't there.

The skoda dealers and technical guys in their workshop are baffled and it is a brand new car ordered mid october and delivered 8th December 2009 so I would bl**dy hope that I have got all new boards etc :o)

The dealer tech guy is now off until Monday and so I thought I would check the group knowledge. I did notice one other person on the forum had the same problem, but also saw one other member post a photo of his bolero with a lovely parking sensor display.

I will keep this post up to date with developments so that others can hopefully benefit (assuming they can find the problem!)

Does it display the climatronic settings, temp etc.

If not the park sensor display might be enabled along with climatronic display. This can be turned off/on

Look at pages 14 & 15 of the Bolero manual

When I tweak the climate control dial the settings are displayed on the Bolero, so all that side of it work OK. Also, when the parking sensors are active the volume is reduced so there may be something connected to the radio, but not fully (unless the reduced volume is performed in the amp somewhere).

Oh well...

My radio sound is turned off completely when I select reverse.

I have just been told by the Dealer that they had the coding wrong when they installed the tow bar. I collect the car again tomorrow to confirm that all is now well.

Yes. The problem was dealer finger trouble after fitting the tow bar. They had the settings wrong.
