Week 45 + builds / XDS

Featured Replies

Heard today that mine is due to arrive at the dealers next week. Hooray :-)

Was wondering if anyone who had taken delivery of a vRS built post week 45 had been able to determine if it was fitted with XDS (even if ordered pre October when the new brochure and new price was announced).

I've also noticed on the main Skoda an update to the user manual titled, "Technical Changes - Supplement to Owners Manual Nov 2009". This link should get you to it.

Mine is not built yet but it will come with XDS

Looking at that updated manual it also looks like the 170CR engine has been updated, in line with the Yeti production engine - slightly more frugal according to the new link, and a slight drop in emissions that unfortunately don't have any bearing on the tax bracket!

Thanks for that link. My VRS due to be built next week (51)

Noticed from that owners manual supplement that the ESP can not be switched off.

I'm disappointed with that as it useful to turn it off in heavy snow to avoid overheating the brakes

Picked up my vRS which was built on WEEK 45 and I can confirm that it DOES NOT have XDS.

I know this as there is a button to turn off the traction control

I queried this after ordering mine and got the following reply. I do have the button to disable TCS

Good afternoon Mr *,

Many thanks for your enquiry and i apologise for the delay in replying.

The Octavia VRS introduced the "XDS" as a standard option on new vehicle's built from Build weerk 45 ( November 2nd 2009) which will be the face lift model.

Many thanks for choosing Skoda and enjoy the motoring with your new vehicle.

Assuring you of our best attention at all times

I pick mine up Tuesday so I will confirm. Looks like Terence needs to change his email signature and learn how to spell customer. But if he is right with his information then I will let him off.

I have the Nov supplement, does that mean I have XDS?

Given I started this thread it seems that there is no obvious way to determine this. I noticed from another thread

http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/146214-sports-suspension-code/

that there are a whole raft of codes to indicate build items. Does anyone know what it is for XDS - and if so, how can those of us who ordered in the last few months but are only now taking delivery find that code somewhere on the vehicle?

Just a thought :)
