Compression test

Featured Replies

With it being a little slow yesterday at work, and seeing as a friend had a pressure tester sat on his desk I thought I would see how my 115000 mile hard used 20V turbo motor was doing.

I checked the Haynes book and it gave the mimimum as 7 Bar which seems low to me, and gave a difference of 3 Bar which seems high, but then I've never really looked at testing a turbo lump before.

Anyway tested the engine and got a solid 200 psi (around 14 Bar) on all 4 pots :D

I am very impressed with results like that from a highish mile car that gets used and abused.

Them Germans really do know how to put a car together!
