Updated firmware on rns510

Featured Replies

I updated my irmware to the latest version and installed v6 maps. Everything worked fine but needed recoding for maxidot. Took it to someone with vagcom and he faffed with it but couldn't get the maxidot thing to work.Drove home listening to the radio. parked up had my tea burnt a new mp3 disc and loaded it on the hard drive. The nav and audio now showed up in the maxidot but i have no sound from the radio or cd hdd or sd. I can hear the sound for the nav instructions and the voice command thingy and the beep when you press the buttons.I took it back to the chap this morning but still no sound and to top it off no maxidot again. is it just a matter of taking it to someone who knows how to use vagcom correctly or is my unit buggered?I think that it is that the chap dosn't really know what he's doing.

It sounds to me that your unit is a total right off. Absolutely no way ever in a million years will it get repaired.

However, in the true Briskoda spirit, I'm prepared to offer you a brand new £20 note for it just so you don't feel too bad about killing it :giggle:

No, wait! Don't take £20.00 he's ripping you off, I'll give you £35.00 - a much fairer price emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

Haha...stop my sides hurt sooooooo much. Seriously is it just a coding balls up?

cheers

Well that's me out of the running then - there's no way I can compete with such over the top offers! You've certainly got far too much money to be able to squander it just like that.

if it was working before it was messed with, then I guess the coding on the unit is now wrong. Hazarding a guess its been left coded for the "Sound system" upgrade which is obviously not going to work correctly on the standard setup.

Cheers for that .I think the chap just had a guess on what he sould do and cocked up somewhere along the line.as they say you get what you pay for and it was free.......Looks like a trip to Ben at Shark performance...

Ben should certainly be able to sort out the coding and get it correct for your cars setup.

If not my offer still stands emoticon-0105-wink.gif
