  • I just got back from a trip to Hamburg to see friends / family, I have got the same tyres fitted to a set of steelies on my Mk1 Superb, brilliant tyres, they make all the difference. They really munch

Monkey Boy is correct  If you have Skoda alloys and buy Skoda steel rims the stock bolts will do just fine

And I agree with "agerbundsen"... Winter tyres, winter tyres, winter tyres, winter tyres. Hurting either innocent pedestrians, yourself, passengers in your car, occupants in other cars or your brand new Yeti isn't worth it if it could have been avoided by fitting proper tyres..

Interesting video, different types of tyres (winter/snow vs all season vs summer) tested on an ice rink.

Good link, I've watched quie a few of Tire Racks stuff

Tire Rack have a whole series of tyre tests of winter tyresemoticon-0148-yes.gif. A lot of them using 3 series RWD cars. If I am not skint, I will certainly be putting winter tyres on my next car (at the appropriate time of course)

Yet more snow :swear: Shouldn't grumble to much though it is after all Snow-Monster weather :giggle:

The different look might have something to do with cross breading a Panda with a Japanese weaving loom.

If your a bit lost look up the history of Suzuki ;)

Seriously though good pics see you have your winters fitted. :)

Sadly the weak point of the car isn’t the Suzuki bits it’s the Fiat gearbox, but that’s for another forum :D.

I had just gone up a little side road past the Turnpike pub (off J22 M62) and went up a rather steep snowy road. Even had the diff lock in at one point! Winter tyres are truly amazing, I got to a point where a Discovery was parked up and the driver (rather dishy guy) mentioned I was the only car he’d seen in the last few days get that far up the road. I suspect a Yeti would have struggled a little bit more going up, but it would have been a lot better coming down, as I the Sedici doesn't have any hill descent control. Well first gear sort of works :D

Know what you mean regard the Fiat components, wife's Corsa plagued by them.

Regard going up hill my Monsters been doing fine with the Nokian winters and the off-road engaged; kept up with a Disco on one of the more infamous road inclines round here while there was a decent covering of snow, so quite happy.

I was just thinking of the Diff lock as a crud but very effective, get you out of poo thing. Not dissing the mighty Yeti or it's siblings. The standard Fiat 'Auto 4x4' is a lot slower acting than the VAG system from what I have seen on the roads this winter. Still I can at least be smug that I got my Winter tyres in 2008 :D

Did half a day off road driver training while in the RAF, carried out some fairly steep hill descents on soft sandy soil in a LR Defender SWB; not a natural feeling relying on a diff lock for preservation. Mind you nor is descending a hill in neutral with off-road engaged in a Yeti :S :giggle:

We‘ve come a long way since the days of having to jack your car up because your diff locks have been left in once you regain decent traction :D The Fiat’s isn’t a diff at all, just an electromagnetic clutch thingymagig. I wish the Yeti/Tiguan had it as an option, I am sure it wouldn’t be too difficult to achieve, probably mostly a software tweak.

I like your new boots Amanda. A lot more functional than the ones in your wardrobe!

No, they can not afford my fee, so I am staying at home until they meet my demands. I am open to private negotiation. :p

If you can wrap yourself up in some nice paper and get yourself up to Newcastle for my Goddaughters birthday next week I would be really grateful emoticon-0102-bigsmile.gif

Cheque/beer tokens in the postemoticon-0148-yes.gif

:giggle: Il give it some consideration but that is third party sales. Block bookings and bulk orders might receive discount.

Are you expecting Skoda GB to market Soft Cuddly Yeti any time soon?

Dunno, I just thought the ones in the photos looked quite cute :)

The serious answer is yes; well the larger one is anyway. There is a smaller version that you can turn inside out to make a Yeti 'car'. This is available in Aqua blue or Red.

The latter I have on back order since November; thought it might make a good Christmas gift for my wife (likes such things). Sadly not turned up yet but she thinks the Yeti Feet ice cube maker she got instead is great. Bit different having feet floating around in your glass :giggle:

Some dealers I believe were giving them to their first Yeti customers (Not mine mind) on collection day.

I think buying a Yeti (car) in order to get a cuddly toy might be a bit expensive. emoticon-0102-bigsmile.gif

Go on Anthony, get her one, you know you should. emoticon-0148-yes.gif
