TPM worked a treat

Featured Replies

Coming home a week ago, when noticed the amber TPM light on. Figured the tyre would be completely flat before this would go off. Stopped immediately and looked at all 4 wheels, all seemed okay.

Was only a 1/2 mile from home so drove home and got out pressure gauge and found 1 tyre was at 26psi (was set around 30psi). Removed wheel and low and behold there was a nail in it.

Well done to TPM.

Mine never worked when I had two tyres blown out :(

I don't think you need a sensor to tell you that!

Seriously, I don't think the sensor works in that kind of situation.

To be honest Phil, and all due respect to the car, it did feel OK. I just kept on checking the TPM for problems.....

It was only after going around a sharpish bend that the tyre came off the rim......

TPM is for slower, isolated punctures. Like the o/p.

It's just measuring the relative speed of the wheels and inferring changes in diameter from that.
