where can i get a wiring diagram for a mark 1 superb. need ot do some fault finding and woudl be easier if i had diagram to reference. thanks

Haynes 4279 gives a bit of basic information if you don't need to go in too far. I used the diagrams to enable the instrument lights to come on with the engine - the instruments on this car are unreadable unless lit, and even then only just about OK.

Roto, was that a a pretty simple mod? i have looked into doing that with VCDS but couldn't find the coding to do it, as i agree with you they are very hard to read when they are unlit.

Simple mod. There are 2 wires which go to the instruments and both have to be "high" (12V) in order for the instruments to light up. It's done this way so that when you use the parking lights only one wire will be high (left or right) so the instruments don't light.

Find and isolate these wires at the back of the pod and join them both to +15.

The cable colours in the Haynes manual are (amazingly) correct.

I was wanting to do this to my MK2 Octavia, what does the Haynes manual you mention cover, is it just the Superb

Octavia is Golf based - different chassis, so different manual.
