HI THERE ALL IN SKODALAND

Has anybody come across this problem before?, I have a 1.9 td estate with 181.000 on the clock , had it for years and I wish to keep it ,as I cant find any thing that comes any where near it !!! but just yesterday the dials on the dash refused to work , the rev counter, speedo, temp ,and fuel . though they do work for a second or two for no obvious reason , chance of finding a loose connection with out some guidance is almost nil, the strange thing is, every thing else is working fine. Any help would be appreciated ,
