Tiptronic owners in snow

To all of those with you with Fabia Tiptronics, a feature of the gearbox that is NOT detailed in the owners manual in any way is that when operating in tiptronic mode you can start off in second rather than first gear by moving the selector forward while you are totally stationary. This should help with safer and more secure driving in the snow. The car will keep launching in 2nd gear unless you use kickdown, and it also seems to revert to pulling away in first after a short while also. As I say this feature is not in the manual, and it will put more stress on the torque converter but using it in the snow should be no problem
